Understanding Parenting

“Am I ready to be a parent?” This is a question a lot of women ask no matter their age, finances, or relationships. Parenting is never painless and no one is ever fully prepared to become one, but many single women do it successfully.

There are more resources today than ever before for women who choose to parent independently. Plus, we are here to support and advise you and connect you to the resources you need to parent with confidence.

Questions About Parenting

As you think about this option, you probably have a good idea of the level of commitment required. Parenting is not a one-time decision you never think about again. Instead, it is a lifelong commitment that will bring challenges and joy.

Like all of your pregnancy options for your unplanned pregnancy, parenting can be a difficult choice to make. Babies, unfortunately, do not come with instructions or a parenting guide. Each situation is different, but here are some basic questions you might be asking:

  • Will my partner or parents support me?
  • How can I finish school?
  • Will I lose my job?
  • Where can I get help to be a parent?
  • Am I too young to be a parent?
  • How can I possibly raise another child now?

Is Parenting Right For Me?

This is a big question and the answer might surprise you. Many women who were not planning on being moms yet, took on the challenge and were very successful. Was it easy? No, but with the right support system in place, parenting can be one of the most fulfilling things you will ever do.Woman learns about Parenting
