OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A HOME ENVIRONMENT THAT EMPOWERS WOMEN TO EMBRACE MOTHERHOOD WITH STRENGTH, RESILIENCE AND HOPE.
We will do this by:
Providing a safe, stable & nurturing environment
Equipping women with parenting, relational & life skills
Fostering spiritual growth
Developing a culture of family in the home.
Our home for mothers is a residential home with 3 bedroom suites that can house up to 3 women and 3 babies at a time. There is staff supervision 24 hours/ 365 days a year. There are daily responsibilities that each resident participates in, as Margie’s Place functions very much like a family.
Each resident will be on her own path to complete schooling, GED or seeking part-time work during her time at our home. She will also participate in our program that focuses on teaching parenting, relational and life skills.
Residents will be able to live in our home until around the time her child turns one year old. She will work with our Housing Manager to develop goals for her time in our home, and to create a plan for what her next steps will be after leaving Margie’s Place.
Who is Margie’s Place For?
A woman who is pregnant or has a newborn
A woman who is 18 years of age or older
A woman who has been drug free for at least 30 days
A woman who wants to live at Margie’s Place and is willing to consent to our program rules and guidelines
Who is Not Eligible to Live at Margie’s Place?
A woman who is fleeing from a domestic violence situation
A woman who is having suicidal thoughts
A woman who has older children currently in her care
A woman with a life-altering psychiatric disorder (at the discretion of M.P. staff)
Unfortunately, no. Margie’s Place is designed to care for the Mom and her current pregnancy / baby. We are not a shelter or considered emergency housing. The size of the home and the needs of all those involved in the program do not positively support more children in the home. We do allow children to visit and spend time at Margie’s Place.
We are able to provide this wonderful home, food and support all free of charge due to the generous donations of individuals, churches and groups in our community who care about moms and their babies.
