A pregnancy can change your plans without erasing them.
You may have been working toward a degree, trying to find steady employment, saving for your own place, or simply figuring out what you wanted your life to look like. An unexpected pregnancy can make those goals feel much harder to reach, especially when housing or financial stability is already uncertain.
That is where the right support can make a difference.
A maternity home can provide more than a place to live during pregnancy. With housing, structure, education, parenting support, and help setting personal goals, a maternity home can give a woman room to keep building the future she wants while preparing for life as a mother.
The Hope Clinic is here to help you throughout this unexpected pregnancy. We offer free pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, and Margie’s Place, our maternity home, a safe and stable environment for expecting mothers.

Why Housing Stability Matters
It is difficult to focus on school, work, or long-term goals when you are worried about where you will live or how you will afford basic needs.
For some women, having a dependable place to live provides the foundation needed to focus on education, employment, parenting, and other goals.
Keep Working Toward Your Goals
Becoming a mother does not mean your education or career plans have to end. At Margie’s Place, women can work toward goals such as finishing school, earning a GED, or pursuing part-time employment while living in the home. Residents also participate in programming focused on parenting, relational skills, and life skills.
Research supports the value of combining housing with this kind of practical support. A 2024 review of programs for pregnant young women and young mothers experiencing homelessness found that programs pairing housing with supportive services showed promise in areas such as employment, healthcare access, and mental health.
Plan for Life After the Home
At Margie’s Place, each woman works with the Housing Manager to establish personal goals and create a plan for what comes next. Women may stay in the home until their child is approximately one year old, giving them time to work toward greater stability while caring for their baby.
The goal is not simply to provide a temporary place to live. It is to help women prepare for greater independence and the next stage of life.
